Rating Scales
When you are trying
to plan family rafting vacation, one of the most important things
for you to know is the rating scales and what they represent.
River rapids are rated on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the
slowest, easiest to maneuver rapids, and 5 being the most violent,
difficult to maneuver rapids.
Obviously you are going
to need to think about yourself and who is going with you on this
trip, and use this to determine what rating of rapids you should
be sticking to. Obviously if you have never gone whitewater rafting
before or there are young children coming with you, you are going
to want to make sure that you choose an easy rapid.
This will ensure that
everyone is safe on your family rafting vacation and make sure
that you all enjoy yourself as much as possible at the same time.
Age Requirements
Especially if you have
younger children going on the trip with you, you will need to
make sure that you check the age requirements of a family rafting
vacation trip before making any plans. Talk to a representative
at the company and discuss this with them, so that they can help
you out with whatever you need here.
Choose the
Right Time and Date
Another important step
when planning a family rafting vacation is to choose the right
time and date. You need to choose a day that you and everyone
going with you is going to be able to take off, but also ensure
that it will be one with nice weather. Of course you don't want
to go whitewater rafting when the weather is cold, so make sure
that it is on a day where there will be lots of sunshine.
